The past few months have been more musical than magical:
I have been practicing hard with my band, Reality Cheques (www.myspace.com/realitycheques), and we are now ready to gig… Our first gig is happening next week:

Magic-wise, I am getting ready for the Christmas period, which is he busiest of the year… I have a few enquiries for residencies in restaurants, but things are still in the talking phase…

I will have a gig on the 25th of October, for a privae party…

And I haven’t been lazy.
I performed on many occasions, mainly friends and family, but I have also been asked to pop in a birthday quickly to surprise a man on his 40th birthday.
I did, and I had a great time.
I also learnt some new stuff too… I also created my very own version of a card to wallet effect (without gimmick). I guess someone else thought about it in the past, but it is still an idea i came up with…

I had loads of fun, and am in contacts with some people for possible gigs…
in the mean time, a new pic:

On Monday, I showed magic to Tom Morello, guitarist of Audioslave (and ex guitarist of Rage Against the Machine).
Unfortunately, it was not allowed to take pictures, so I have no proof… Just an autograph on a playing card…
However, the whole thing has been imortalised on video by one of Tom’s friend. I will try my best to get hold of the footage, and hopefully post it on my website or something…
Tom Joined the list of lucky stars who had a breaf encounter with may magic…
So far, I have shown magic to Juliette Lewis (actress / singer of Juliette and the licks), Stebe Bays (singer / keyboardist of Hot Hot heat), Justin Schlosberg (singer of Hell Is For Heroes), James Lomenzo (bassist of Megadeth / Black Label Society), Ron Thal (singer / guitarist of Bumblefoot), Freak Kitchen (Swedish metal band), El Mobo and Fanalo (bassist / guitarists of Plugin), Electric Eel Shock (Japanese heavy metal band)… hopefully there are more to come…

Hello all!
I had a blast during the last 2 days !!!
Spent the day in the barshow 2006, and met loads of people, and made a lot of new contacts…
I performed for a fruit juice company (Zusti Ltd) (gorgeous fruit juices by the way) for 1.5h each day. Then I went around networking.

Got some interesting contacts, let’s hope this will bring me more shows!

Also, later on yesterday, I had a call from my friend Bumblefoot who wanted to say hello… I was amazed, that he actually called him. He is the new guitarist of Guns N’ Roses… at least on this tour… So I can tell I had a call from the guitarist of GNR…

Well, a small bit of news,
First of all a picture of James Lomenzo (bassist of metal band Megadeth, and Black Label Society) and me after I showed him some magic at the London guitar show at the beginning of the month:

Also, I found a band, so I will be a bassist in a band called “Reality Cheque”, so hopefully we’ll be performing on stage soon. This will not drag me away from magic, don’t worry!

Finally, the bar show is in 2 weeks, and things are getting confirmed. I will be performing at the Orbit Bar ’s stand (portable bar company that employs me from time to time for their special events). I’ll also go around for networking purpose!

Finally, some gigs are getting lined up for June-July: BBQ, garden parties, weddings…

It’s been a quiet period for me lately…
My last gig was in a restaurant in Fulham “the Blue Elephant”, for a birthday party.
I had a great time along with the people there. I performed for 1h30min, testing some new tricks I learnt lately, mainly mentalism stuff.
I particularly like one which uses nothing at all, just a prediction on the table, and some imaginary coins…

I also hepled a fellow French magician and friend, Mathieu Bich, in translating in English his latest trick, called sympathetink. You can see clips of this trick and purchase it on his website, www.mathieubich.com

This time of the year it is always quiet; now that the summer seems to make its way slowly, garden / street parties should start to happen!
Also, the bar show is on its way at the beginning of June (as I was saying in my last post).

Anyway, this gives me time to work on new tricks, also my music (I am looking for a band as bassist or guitarist)… I am starting to think about a new little video… I need to ask the Kind Bumblefoot again to know if I can use his music on it…

Anyway, that is it for now!

I will be promoting myself in the showbar, at the beginning of June 2006.
The showbar is a big exhibition for bar for professionals in the drink industry. This show takes place in the Olympia, Kensington.
I will be at the stand of the orbit bar (portable bar for hire), performing for a couple of hours each day (I think it is the 6 & 7); then I’ll walk around giving business cards here and there; feel free to stop me and chat if you see me!

Hi all, just a quick note that I redesigned my other website, www.jeromeburnet.com (the site where you can see the other things I do).
Now it looks a lot nicer. I hope.
Magic-wise, nothing really new, I am back from the Blackpool magic convention where I had a ball. I met new friends and discovered new magicians from whom I might nick some ideas!

I also might be involved in a project (magic-related) where I would use my drawing skills more than my magician skills… more on that at a later date.
